PRIME MINISTER GRACED THE CELEBRATION OF THE 60TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE NATIONAL BANK OF RWANDA (NBR)
Kigali, June 07, 2024--- On behalf of His Excellency, Paul Kagame, the President of the Republic of Rwanda, Prime Minister Dr. Edouard Ngirente presided over the celebration of the 60th Anniversary of the National Bank of Rwanda (NBR), in a ceremony that took place at Kigali Intare Conference Arena.
In his keynote address, Prime Minister started by congratulating the National Bank of Rwanda for the great work accomplished over the past six decades and commended its role in the development of Rwanda’s economy.
Prime Minister underscored the critical role of the central bank's monetary policy and financial systems regulation approaches in maintaining a stable macroeconomic environment in Rwanda.
He also thanked all actors in the banking sector for their contribution in ensuring the safety of depositors’ money and prudent usage in financing the economy.
He called upon Central Banks and financial institutions to constantly update their regulatory tools and stay alert to counter emerging risks in the financial sector.
Finally, Prime Minister encouraged investors to take advantage of the conducive business environment that prevails in Rwanda and to consider investing in our financial and banking sectors.
