Prime Minister Ngirente attended the Africa Investment Forum 2023
Marrakech, November 08-10, 2023- Prime Minister Dr. Edouard Ngirente represented His Excellency President Paul Kagame at the Africa Investment Forum 2023.
This three-day Forum took place at the Palais des Congrès under the theme: “Unlocking Africa’s Value Chains”.
On the first day of this Forum, Prime Minister Ngirente attended the opening ceremony and took part in a presidential panel on accelerating Africa's economic transformation.
This panel included other Heads of State and Government such as President Samia Suluhu Hassan of Tanzania, Azali Assoumani of Comoros and Chairperson of the African Union (AU), Julius Maada Bio of Sierra Leone, as well as Mia Mottley, Prime Minister of Barbados.
In his intervention, Prime Minister emphasized the need to de-risk priority sectors for investment flow. He highlighted the importance of enhancing connectivity on the continent through robust infrastructure, enabling seamless movement of goods and people.
The Premier also shared Rwanda’s journey in fostering an investment-friendly environment, including interventions related to national security, strategic investments in infrastructure, and the establishment of a visa-free regime to promote economic growth and prosperity.
On the second day, Prime Minister Ngirente chaired a boardroom session dedicated to investment in Rwanda. In his opening address, he underscored various investment opportunities available within Rwanda and invited investors to consider Rwanda as a promising investment destination.
During this session, the Premier emphasized Rwanda’s agriculture ambition to boost high-value crop exports and ensure food security through the implementation of Gabiro Agribusiness Hub Project (GAHP), a commercial farming project. He encouraged investors to partner with Rwanda in developing Phase 2 of this transformative project.
On the sidelines of the Forum, PM Dr. Ngirente met with the President of the African Development Bank Group, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina. They exchanged on AfDB fruitful cooperation with Rwanda focusing on infrastructure development and operationalization of the African Pharmaceutical Technology Foundation.
