Prime Minister Ngirente attended the Summit for a New Global Financing Pact
Paris, June 22-23, 2023 - Prime Minister Dr. Edouard Ngirente represented His Excellency President Paul Kagame at the Summit for a New Global Financing Pact, convened by His Excellency Emmanuel Macron, President of France.
This Summit took place at the Palais Brongniart from 22nd to 23rd June 2023.
On June 22, Prime Minister Ngirente attended the opening ceremony of the Summit and later in the afternoon took part in a roundtable session that discussed Debt and Special Drawing Rights channeling.
On the same day, the Premier delivered opening remarks at a side-event that focused on accelerating and scaling up climate finance in Rwanda.
On June 23, the Prime Minister attended the closing ceremony of the Summit and participated in a high-level roundtable that discussed innovative finance mechanisms to accelerate investment in primary health care and health systems resilience.
On the sidelines of the Summit, the Premier also met with Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund. Their discussions were centered on how to continue strengthening the existing good cooperation between Rwanda and IMF.
