PRIME MINISTER NGIRENTE OFFICIATED THE CLOSING CEREMONY OF THE COMMONWEALTH YOUTH FORUM

Kigali, June 21, 2022- Prime Minister Dr. Edouard Ngirente represented His Excellency President Paul Kagame at the closing ceremony of the Commonwealth Youth Forum.

This Commonwealth Youth Forum was taking place at Intare Conference Arena as part of the ongoing Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).

In his closing remarks, the Prime Minister highlighted that young people have endless opportunities and some of the greatest breakthroughs in innovation have been led by young people.

He noted that these opportunities come with challenges that require the active involvement of the youth to be addressed.

The Premier called upon the youth to take their place on the world stage and take bold moves in designing the future of their communities because history is in their hands.

He also pledged the Government of Rwanda’s commitment to encourage the ongoing partnerships between the Commonwealth Secretariat, the Youth Council, member countries and civil society in an inclusive and sustainable way to deliver on a common future for the Commonwealth.
