Prime Minister officiated the opening ceremony of the 2024 Africa Food Systems Forum (AFS Forum)
Kigali, September 03, 2024---Prime Minister Dr. Edouard Ngirente officiated the opening of the 2024 Africa Food Systems Forum (AFS Forum) in a ceremony held at Kigali Convention Center.
In his remarks, Prime Minister thanked the Africa Food Systems Forum team for the tireless efforts in advancing the agenda for transforming African agriculture.
He also insisted on the importance of this Forum in shaping the future of agriculture in Africa and driving progress towards sustainable and resilient food systems.
The Premier also called upon African Governments and other policymakers to put in place and implement policies that promote a more resilient and equitable food system to address the issue of malnutrition that has severe impact on the socio-economic development of our continent.
He also underscored the critical role of leveraging digital technologies and adopting climate-resilient practices to build inclusive food systems.
Prime Minister concluded his remarks by reiterating Rwanda’s commitment to playing its role in advancing agricultural transformation on our continent.
