PRIME MINISTER PRESENTED TO PARLIAMENT GOVERNMENT’SACTIONS AIMED AT ENHANCING CITIZENS’ WELFARE BY BOOSTING AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTIVITY
Kigali, October 02, 2025---- Pursuant to the Constitution of the Republic of Rwanda, Prime Minister Dr. Justin Nsengiyumva appeared before both Chambers of Parliament to present the Government’s strategic actions aimed at enhancing citizens’ welfare through increased agricultural productivity.
During his address, the Prime Minister emphasized the central role of agriculture in driving Rwanda’s economic growth and improving livelihoods. He reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to transforming the agricultural sector as a key pathway to national food security and inclusive development.
Dr. Nsengiyumva unveiled an ambitious plan to boost agricultural output by 50%. The strategy includes integrating advanced technologies across the agricultural value chain, optimizing land use, mitigating the impacts of climate change, and expanding access to fertilizers.
He concluded by reiterating the Government’s dedication to modernizing agriculture, with a focus on sustainable resource management and increased productivity to improve the welfare of all Rwandans.
